Magic Rules
A)
THE GOLDEN RULE- All magic is draining. What does this mean? Well, it means that if you use magic your exhausting energy! If you exhaust too much you will pass out! NOT ONE magical being in the entire sim has infinite powers. The more power a spell needs the more draining it will be. ( Exception sort of. The Supremes are the two most powerful magic users on the sim but even they can and will exhaust themselves without care of caution. It might take longer but it will happen! ) a) Can-trips/Gestures: These are movement-based powers such as Telekineses or premonition, freezing, and so on. A Natural born gift that does not require spells or incantations. Just a flick of the wrist or a type of movement that activates your power. The act alone is simple and barely exhausts any energy. However, The Longer a can-trip ( Such as Vision or holding something ) is held the more draining it will become. For example, holding a door closed whilst someone is pushing against it if this goes on for a while ( two posts or more ) the witch can exhaust themselves.
b) Curses will require a lot of power and more than one witch and OR something to channel and link the curse too. For Example, To Curse someone with an illness, the witch/ or witches performing the act would need an item of the intended to be able to curse them. This Curse, however, will be linked to the primary witch performing the curse. Thusly only three ways to end such a curse. 1) The Witch and or witches reverse it. 2) The Witch who placed the curse dies. Or 3) The curse runs its course.
B) Spells require two parts to perform a spell ( Two Posts Minimum )
a) The words ( incantation ) used to make it happen and activate the magic.
b) The motions or movements to go with it.
C) Fighting with Magic, Most witches use their powers as offensive. If using a spell in a defensive setting the two-post rule applies! Dice is allowed but we also use free form and the written word for fighting scenes!
D) No spells are permanent. All magic has a shelf life. If it is a curse that curse must be tied to an item or the life of the witch! Depending on the type of curse. Again I Repeat magic is draining!!! If it is a situation where an item is used for protection or something similar that item must be re-enchanted by the witch who created it and if that being dies so does the magic in the object!
E) Magical items.. these are cursed or enchanted items such are pendants, hex bags, weapons, or even talismans, these need to be respelled ( Duration depends on the spell performed ) the witch who created them must recharge them in some way.
******Please keep in mind these were designed to help enhance roleplay within the stories. We are not trying to restrict you simply help aid. By having an item recharged it allows and opens RP avenues with certain races... having curses bound to its creator and only be broken by them also allows more RP opportunities and other RP avenues.
