Strigoi

The Strigoi was Created by the south side Coven founder Lucille Deveroux in 1855. Strigoi are jaded and moody. Gothic often by choice. They are immortal and immune to diseases and most mortal ways of dying. They don't need to breathe or eat. They do however survive solely on the blood of the living. They can drink any living blood including animal blood. A Strigoi solely living on animal blood will be half the Strigoi, that a well-fed Strigoi who feeds on human blood would be. Sunlight does not bother them, though they would prefer to avoid it. It's a personal preference rather than a rule of thumb.

   The First Strigoi was Randall Castel, Christopher's brother and he ran the Nest outside of an old run-down church in the southside in which he called himself the High Priest. Many considered him a very devout man. In truth, the church is a front, a smokescreen to protect the nest and in doing so the Coven. In the year of 1996, Randall met his fate by way of Garou. He had met his match and fought valiantly but underestimated his enemy and was slain. Leaving the Nest to his favorite Sired Strigoi Regina Shade.

  Strigoi are created or rather turned. They are not born. When they are turned from mortal to Strigoi their body essentially dies and no longer functions as it once did, therefore they have no reproduction system. This does not mean that they do not take part in carnal acts, it just means there is no way to reproduce via intercourse. For the strigoi curse to be spread, a Strigoi must feed upon its victim and then replace the mortals' blood with their own via some form of transfusion. A mortal must be on their deathbed for the cursed blood to take effect. Once the blood is replaced a painful transformation will ensue.

   Strigoi are the undead. Technically their bodies died, some would argue their souls as well. Being undead means that their body no longer functions the way a living person does. Therefore their appearance is rather different. Strigoi, have almost no pigment in their skin and hair. ( Some may die their hair or wear wigs ) But Most appear to be a very pale blonde and very pale skin. Their nails are translucent in color and tend to be pointed at the ends. They have fangs that can retract and extend at will or when they are very hungry. Their eyes are paler in color. And Their ears may be slightly pointed at the tips. Which they keep covered with hats or longer hair. 

 

Strengths:

*Inhuman speed, Strigoi are extremely fast. Fastest race on the sim. The action of their fast movements is called Gusting. And it is not something that they can continue doing for extended amounts of time. 

*Inhuman Strength, They are twice as strong as a human.

 *Heightened senses, their senses are twice that of a normal human. Vision and hearing are amongst their most honed.

 *Ability to spread their curse through blood sharing and transfusions.

 *Ability to control the minds of others via hypnoses. This action is called Glamouring. Whilst under a glamour a person's memories or thoughts are replaced with the words of the Strigoi. ( This requires OOC consent as it can only be undone by the Strigoi, the strigoi's death, or if they are turned. )

*Maker Link, the link formed by a Strigoi who made or turned another. They will be psychically bonded to any Strigoi they sire. Feeling their pain and being able to summon them with a single thought.

*Ability to pass on the curse via blood sharing. This means that a strigoi can bite a person and or witch draining them until the final moments of their heartbeat and forcing their strigoi blood into their victim turning them into a strigoi. Within 24 hrs the mortal will die a painful death and be reborn into a strigoi!

*Advanced healing, Strigoi can heal just as fast as Garou can. Enhanced healing. Flesh wounds heal almost instantly. Deep wounds take no less than 24 hrs... Mortal wounds up to a week...**** A Strigoi must be well fed or the process will take even longer. Still faster than a mortal but far slower than a Garou, if the Strigoi has not been maintaining a healthy daily diet of human blood.****

 

 Weaknesses:

*Buckthorn root/ash, this is a ward against vampires. If a Strigoi is within its vicinity they are greatly weakened. If it touches them it will burn! For extended lengths of time, they will pass out.

*Blood lust, This happens with newly changed Strigoi often. The slightest amount of blood will drive them into a frenzy. 

*New bornism, this is a phrase used for newly turned Strigoi. They are prone to outbursts, fits of rage, and blood lust. Lack of control as well, and they would need to be taught to overcome this.

*Beheading and removal of the heart can kill them.
